September 2008

Map@Syst Geocoin!

The Map@Syst Geocoin adventure has begun!  Around the country, Extension specialists and agents are placing trackable geocoins in geocaches around the country.  To see where the coins are, or to learn more about geospatial technologies check into the Geospatial Technology website at eXtension

Texas GIS Forum

The states largest Geospatial Technology Forum will be held again this year at the J.J. Pickle Research Center in Austin.  Workshops, seminars, and forums highlight this three day event.  October 27-21st.  See the Texas GIS Forum website for more information.

February 2008

A new website dedicated to outreach and education about geospatial technologies was launched as part of a national effort through eXtension.  This website was developed by Map@syst - a community of practice formed by members of NGTEN to serve public needs related to the use, development, and deployment of geospatial technoologies.  Features of the website include articles, glossary, FAQ, educational learning modules, and Ask-the-Expert.
